it’s incredible that out of all the horrible things he goes through in the process of fulfilling his destiny, the faith healer touched dean and saw that he was special and righteous. all that pain and destruction and not only the angels but men of god see it as good. makes me think of evangelical christianitys fetishistic obsession with the rapture and armageddon. it’s taught that the gruesome death of nonbelievers is not only inevitable but deserved, righteous. it’s possible that that man in fact saw the whole picture, and chose to reveal nothing so as to nudge along the end times.
